My 22yr old daughter colored tattoos. What type of ink has been used for years before tattoos?
My 84yr old father tattoos when he signed to join the army, the Second World War. His tattoos look like today it is greenish apparently, no black ink. So, I wonder if someone can give me an answer! Even when I was a child, his tattoos still looked green! Is this ink? Or is it because where it was made?
Tattoo ink is very different from what it was in WW11. Also, how tattoos are done is different. The tattoo machines are not as thick. WW11 tattoos have been all sorts of ways, and there was the belief at that time that if you just stuck some Vaseline on it and took it to the sun, etc. and it would be ok swam We now know that this is not the case. Vaseline and petroleum products from gumming up poress smoother and healing a tattoo. The sun is death to a tattoo well. Antibiotic ointments out of color. Bath water, pool water, lake, river, sea water is teaming with bacteria and can cause infection scary in a tattoo healing, and can ruin the image of tattoo. You should not use lanolin, or anything with scents or dyes on a tattoo healing. These things are unknown in the days WW11. Today's tattoo ink is not regulated, and varies from artist to artist. It is composed of a myriad of some of these synthetic substances. Black is carbon based and your body accepts it easily. Some Colors are more likely to cause allergic reactions than others (red number), but the body usually handles fine them only the 2nd time when getting around the tip in place. If you find an established tattoo shop, tattoo artist and a skilled and experienced, they will use high quality inks that they know how they hold up over time. They are inspected regularly by the Board of Health, and they take sanitation very seriously. If you drive the market and look for "cheap tattoo" your chances of having a tattoo badly is high. And the cheap tattoo will be with the "cheap ink" and will not be done by a qualified tattooist. These tattoos may not delay very long. In addition, How to make a tattoo is supported by the person who has the tattoo during the healing process can make all the difference in the outcome the tattoo healed. You can have a beautifully done tattoo that can be destroyed by poor aftercare. So here's a link to the content of the many tattoo ink: http://wiki.bmezine.com/index.php/Tattoo_ink Here is a site about the history of tattoos around the world and across time: http://www.vanishingtattoo.com/tattoos_history.htm Here is a link to an excellent site on current and reliable information on tattoos and body art: http://tattoo.about.com/ Here is a page of the site on which some tattoos age better than others: http://tattoo.about.com/b/2009/03/22/qow-why-some-tattoos-age-better-than-others.htm Here is a link to way make an excellent follow-up and why (I prefer unscented Lubriderm): http://www.luckyfish.com/pages/articles/tattoocare.htm Thus, the tattoo was black and it is now Green has not been made with quality inks. (many prison tattoos do, and the house / garage as tattoos). When getting a tattoo, you must do your homework before hand, you need to think carefully about your choice of image: http://galadarling.com/article/how-to-get-a-great-tattoo-and-never-regret- it, you must use a reputable shop and a tattoo experience. You must be an excellent follow-up. You must use a sunscreen to life after recovery (SPF 50 or more) whenever you go out in the sun. You may need a touch up now and then throughout your life. But there is no reason to have a age tattoo evil. luck ~
