Should I replace my 2001 VW "beetle" for an original (Austin) Mini Cooper?
I used to have mini austin old, and I loved it! for some years now, I had one of these new beetles (golf party dress!). Its expensive to run, handles and a bus full of concrete and costing me a fortune! I was therefore sought another mini. No new (BMW in a shoe box), but an original style Austin Mini Cooper? I know I'll have to sacrifice all my current luxuries such as air conditioning, and security, etc. (!) But I do not have any legroom or bootspace Anyway, I feel I just want spend half as much on operating costs and exchange it against a lovely mini? Any advice strong mechanical gratefully received …
I think you may be in memory of mini-rose-tinted spectacles. old cars are good to have if you have a few cars, but I would not recommend one as primary vehicle. Whine engine pudding stirrer for a shifter, rust, water leaks, crash gearbox, wet dissy caps, oil spills, abused, 4 speed ……..
