Can I sue DHL for the loss of object?
I ordered an expensive item (about £ 250) to be delivered by DHL, I was not there for the delivery if they left that position in my garbage bin in the street-front on my property. Needles to say, the question has been stolen or emptied during garbage collection. After contacting DHL several times they said that the issue was technically made its not their responsibility. Do I have any legal claim here? Yes, I have a card DHL delivery missed admitting to put in the tank, calls phone with DHL also confirmed Please note this: I still have the card saying that DHL has been made trash. I can post a copy online if you wish.
Sorry but I think your story is not the full truth, I can not believe DHL parcel leave AA in a garbage bin! If they had left would have left a note saying where he was (as you have retained and you could prove the driver was stupid) and you would have a reasonable claim against them. I use DHL, UPS, Fedex, etc and they will not let things unless it is signed for (they will leave with neighbors such as giving them a signature) or you leave instructions in a safe place to go.
