I have no money on a flat mixer for even heavier. I need to make a birthday cake and the need to use the recipe for butter cream. I do not know if I can use a hand mixer instead of heavy! HELP!
Yes, make sure you do it properly and do not get the butter mixture all over! Heres my recipe I use all the time to make a great icing 140g butter, softened 280g icing sugar 1-2 c. tbsp milk a few drops food coloring (if necessary) 1. Beat butter in large bowl until soft. Add half the icing sugar and beat until smooth. 2. Then add the remaining icing sugar with a tablespoon of milk. 3. Beat until creamy then add food coloring and mix well. 4. Add extra icing sugar to thicken or a little extra milk to make more liquid if necessary.
