In today’s world personal safety is imperative. Everyone lives on the brim of life not knowing what is to be expected at the next instant. It is always wiser to be safe than sorry. Men and women get attacked by mobsters and thieves every other night in isolated street corners and they are rendered helpless most of the time. More so than men, it is the women who are more prone to such crimes. Crimes against women not only include petty thefts but also rape and assault. Women all around the world, especially the younger ones, are subjected to such unwanted and unscrupulous acts.
On the grounds of personal safety, there exist simple techniques of self-defense to protect oneself without outside help. You cannot always rely on the police to appear out of nowhere when you are trapped in a risky situation. One such self defense technique and the most effective one is the use of stun guns. A stun gun is a weapon that immobilizes the attacker by the passage of high voltage. However, the amperage is minimal such that no permanent damage is caused. They have become quite effective, discreet and safe to use self-defense weapons for the common man. Stun guns are normally aimed at the muscular part of the body like the buttocks, thigh, or shoulder and is to be pressed against it for a few seconds to get maximum result.
Normal stun guns available in the market can cost from $50 to $100 which is a huge amount. We could consider buying it anyways, if we did not have an alternative. Although the good news is, stun guns can be made at home by you and it would only cost up to $5. So why not learn how to make a stun gun on your own which is both competent and economical.
Following are the steps to make your own homemade stun gun:
- The things needed to build your own stun gun includes, disposable camera, screwdriver, paper clip, needle-nosed pliers and electric tape.
- With the help of the screwdriver, dismantle the plastic casing from the front of the camera. It normally pops off easily.
- Carefully separate the flashbulb out of the camera. Make sure that the circuit board, the capacitor and any other wiring is left untouched and unhampered.
- After you have separated the flash bulb off the camera, locate the two terminals of the capacitor that protrude on the either side of the place where the flash bulb was previously fitted. Bridge these terminals to drain out all the charge left. For this you can use the tip of a flat tipped screwdriver touching both the terminals at the same time.
- Take the paper clip in your hands and stretch it out into a straight piece of wire. Using the pliers cut the paper clip wire into two, at the center.
- Bend the ends of the straightened paper clip wires into a small hook and wire those hooks to the terminals of the capacitor. With the pliers, carefully close and lock the hooks into loops. This ensures that each wire is firmly fastened to either terminals of the capacitor.
- Now reattach the camera casing in the front such that the two wires protrude from the seam in the casing. The distance between the wires is ideally expected to be an inch.
- Tape the case firmly back in place on to the camera whilst you take care that the two wires do not come in contact with each other.
- Press the flash button to charge the stun gun. To pass on the charge on to a test subject simply touch both the exposed wires to it.
Thus it is ready, your own self-defense home made stun gun at minimal expense.
How would I go to a firecracker without the use of black powder, flash powder, gunpowder, etc.?
I tried using a firearm for hats caps but they crackle. Help is appreciated. 
To begin my question is: If you do no access to one of your articles mentioned, so why would you try to make a firecracker for? starters their is no safe method to pyrotechnics. However, if you decide to do (against the best warnings), you must remember one thing, all combustible materials will explode when put in anything that might contain the burning. For example: if you were to shave "stuff" out of a candle and compress it in a small piece of PVC cap that off and add a fuse to it, then when the fire hit the material inside, burning, or rather gas produced by combustion, which occurs inside the PVC have nowhere to flee, causing an explosion. You can let your imagination run from there. But then I remember that creating something of this nature is a federal offense and falls under the category of "manufacturing bombs. "which in this day and age you in jail for a period longer than it takes to enjoy the explosion you have caused. Be forewarned, it is possible, but highly dangerous and illegal. So …….
